Ikari no Hoshizora (怒りの星空) is a 2D side-scrolling action platformer where the player selects and controls one of the 4 playable action heroines, Shiori Hoshi, Roxanne Starr, Kozue, and Midori.

Its art style is reminiscent of 1990s anime such as the shoujo anime Sailor Moon and Gals!, shonen anime Yu Yu Hakusho, comedy anime Slayers, Ranma 1/2, and Tenchi Muyo!, while its experimental themes rooted from Neon Genesis Evangelion, Ghost in the Shell, AKIRA, and Cowboy Bebop.

Story and Setting

Ikari no Hoshizora takes place on Gaia, a matriarchal planet that is the third planet of the Helio planetary system. The world of Gaia is split into two regions, East Gaia, the cyberpunk region, and West Gaia, the steampunk region. Etherion is a safe haven where the main characters live inside a teahouse and it's surrounded by a protective dome, and it's invisible. When the player gets out of the dome via the elevator, they can never return.

Izanami, the death goddess from the original Earth's Yomi is planning to take over Gaia. Because magic does not exist in Gaia, the girls must survive carefully. When will the girls unite when the Amaterasu has awoken?
